To be honest, there are more deserving Cruiserweights on Smackdown! for that belt more than Funaki. Don't get me wrong Funaki can dish out a nice match. But guys that are more deserving for that title, most notably Paul London, has not been given a fair share. Sure from wrestling knowledge standpoint, Shoichi Funaki is a good Champion, due to the fact of his knowledge and how much he has been in this business. However, there are many in the Cruiserweight Division who should be the Champion instead of him.

Very true DC. I would love to see London as the champ as well but at least it is someone new. First Spike then Funaki.

Im happy to see Funaki with the title, but there area alot of other deserving cruiserweights..I liked seeing Spike as champ and now Funaki..hopefully they give someone like Paul London or Akio the belt next.

I think it's great! Been a Funaki fan for about 7 years now. The arguement that others are more deserving is sort of offensive in this situation. People always whine about having the same guys as champ and how someone new should get a shot... Funaki's been around a while, why shouldn't he get a shot??

funaki deserves the belt but i think akio will take it next and then london hopefully they will elevate the CW scene

As long as Rey Mysterio or Chavo doesn't have it all of the time, I'm happy. I hope he can have a good match though, because at Armageddon there were more pin attempts than actual moves. I don't think he will have it long, and I hope when he does lose it it's to someone else who hasn't held it before.
