WWE.com has exclusive video footage from Smackdown of new diva Lauren Jones practicing her ring entrance and The Big Show being helped to the back.
WWE is advertising a special dark match with Randy Orton & Shawn Michaels taking on Triple H & Edge for the February 14th RAW in Cincinnati, OH.
Monday will be "Jim Ross Day" in Oklahoma City, OK. Ross will receive a proclamation from the governors office on Monday as well.
Tickets for the WWE events in England on April 25 and 26 reportedly sold out in about 6-9 hours the first day they were on sale.
Chris Benoit, of all people, will appear on a TV show in England on 1/29 called "Ministry of Mayhem". The show is a kids show and is on ITV in England. Benoit will be promoting the Royal Rumble.
There is currently no sign of ROH stars CM Punk or Samoa Joe being brought in by WWE. Specifically with Samoa Joe, one person within WWE said: "WWE officials look at him and some don't think he can get over with his look." With Ricky Steamboat in WWE now, they're likely to receive some shining endorsements though. It's a shame looks are more important that the ability to put on a three match series unmatch by any series dating back to the Ric Flair/Ricky Steamboat series. Maybe someday 4-5 star matches will be important again.
WWE management is reportedly disappointed in Maven. One specific problem mentioned is his cardio-training. This isn't to say Maven isn't liked backstage, just that he's being held back for the time being. Maven's good friend and traveling buddy Randy Orton also disappoints some, but he is so far into his push that it'd be tough to hold him back to work on him at the moment.
Although there is indeed trouble between The Rock and Vince McMahon, stemming from the fact that McMahon has not made much effort to push for a contract renewal with the wrestler-turned-movie star, there are conflicting reports as to the severity. Some suggest Rock won't wrestle at WM21, while others state it is not too big a deal and will be resolved.
-- In what has to be good news for WWE, the New Year's Revolution PPV scored a preliminary buyrate of 270,000. That is one of the largest numbers WWE has done for a single-brand PPV in recent memory and proves the Elimination Chamber is still a draw. Being that it was a one-match show, all of those 270,000 buys come from people who believe $34.95 was a fair price for the main-event.
