Most insiders believe Edge needs to win his match with HBK, although cannot guarantee that will happen. Those who support an HBK victory are using the excuse that a 'loss betters Edge's character,' an argument that many sources do not buy into. At this point, HBK vs. Kurt Angle seems to be likely for WrestleMania 21, but it is not known if WWE will start the build for that match at the Rumble.

Many consider changing the planned outcome unlikely since there are already plans in place through WrestleMania.

Batista and John Cena are obviously the two favorites to win the Rumble as they are scheduled for WrestleMania 21 title shots.
