According to wwe.com the card for Friday night's Raw brand house show has changed again. The main event will now be a tag team steel cage match with Triple H & Ric Flair vs. Randy Orton & Batista. Edge will now face Shawn Michaels in a rematch from the Royal Rumble and Chris Jericho will face Chris Benoit in a submission match.
The WrestleMania 21 subsite of wwe.com is now up and running.
MNM (Joey Matthews & Johnny Nitro managed by Melina) are scheduled for this weekend's Smackdown house shows in Michigan and Ohio, facing Hardcore Holly and Charlie Haas. Matthews was signed to a developmental deal last week.
Watch for former ROH champion Xavier and Team Blondage as part of the "guests" in the John Bradshaw Layfield Celebration segment on Smackdown this Thursday.
Aside from having drinks poured on her while she was sleeping, Amy Weber is telling people that Randy Orton “did something to her”, and that is the main reason why she is considering suing WWE.
When Orton first got to WWE, he would show off pictures he took with females who he hooked up with to try to impress the other wrestlers. Management has become concerned with Orton’s conduct out of the ring, and some veterans think he is too full of himself and acts way out of line on the road.
Maven is known as one of Orton’s pals on the road, however he was not involved in the Weber situation.
One veteran had this to say about the situation with Orton: "He wants to be able to tell the stories that Ric Flair and Harley Race tell of their days on the road, but he's taking it too far. The business is different today--more corporate, more professional--and he doesn't seem to realize it or care."
Booker T and brother Stevie Ray (collectively once known as Harlem Heat) are opening a wrestling school in Houston, Texas next month.
'Rob Van Dam's "One Of A Kind" debuted at the top of the chart in Billboard's Top 10 Recreational Sports videos this week. The WWE had three other releases in the Top 10: "The Rise and Fall Of ECW" is in fourth, Andre The Giant in fifth and "Best Of Intercontinental Championship" is in eighth place.'
- The WWE released financial results this morning for its third fiscal quarter ended January 28, 2005. Positive news for the most part with profits rising from from $79.1 million to $82.7 million for the same quarter last year. The results included a gain of $1.3 million from assigning the lease for its former New York entertainment complex. The bad news is that live attendance, ticket sales, and TV advertising revenue is down again slightly. Merchandise sales remain strong helped on by home video releases.
Former TNA star Frankie Kazarian, who worked a dark match before last night's Smackdown tapings, is likely to sign a WWE developmental deal soon. When/if Kazarian signs, he will report to OVW. He will also work enxt weeks TV tapings in Dark matches. The same goes for Team Bondage.
It is believed that Steven Richards suffered a broken cheekbone in his match against Chris Masters on RAW, after Masters used a Polish Hammer-type strike to Richards' face. Richards could clearly be seen bleeding from the face on TV.
It looks like WWE is going to be building the Trish Stratus/Christy Hemme feud towards a title match at WrestleMania. Be expecting Christy, and her Playboy Magazine pictorial, to be getting a huge push on WWE TV throughout the next few weeks.
Frankie Kazarian announced that he was going to sign a WWE deal last night at a Ultimate Pro Wrestling event.
The latest issue of Raw magazine features Steve Austin on the cover with the caption, "Stunner! The Exclusive Story Behind Stone Cold's Return".
The 10 minute overrun from Raw this week did a 5.0, which is the best quarter that WWE has done in some time. That means that fans tuned in to see the big Batista turn and it drew a monster rating, up nearly a full point. If you give the fans an interesting storyline, they'll watch. If not, ratings will sink back to the low 3's.
