Frankie Kazarian is set to make his WWE start sometime in the near future. He has been awarded the "Future Legend" distinction at the Cauliflower Alley Club in Las Vegas. Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit have both been given this award in the past. This must mean Kazarian is among some high peers with that award.
There was a press release issued today by Oxygen Magazine noting that The Rock came in second in a poll for best rear end.
According to WWE sources backstage at RAW, Lita was said to have been somewhat shaken up by the reaction the Madison Square Garden crowd gave her, but was doing her best not to react to them. Edge was said to have taken it as business as usual and "laughed the reaction off" seeing it as great heat for his character.
Marty Jannetty is now set to begin with WWE in May. No word was available on plans for his on-air return.
The RAW/Smackdown taping at Madison Square Garden last night drew in the range of 14,000-15,000 fans. The show was the first time that MSG opened up the upper bowl for a wrestling show since WrestleMania XX.
- WWE announced last night that they will have another RAW taping at MSG on 7/11. Tickets will go on sale on 6/4. Chris Jericho's band Fozzy will be playing BB King's in Times Square following the taping that night.
- Linda McMahon stood inside a tunnel leading into the Arena watching but never came out in front of the fans.
- Triple H was said to have been in a lot of pain last night from his neck injury, but gutted it out.
There were chants for Hogan all night.
- There was a "Carlito" chant when Carlito Carribean Cool was in the ring waiting for his Smackdown segment to start.
- Before he was live on the air, Simon Dean cut a promo on the live crowd from inside the ring, saying that the fans in Madison Square Garden were so huge, they needed to renamed the building "Madison Circle Garden."
- WWE was selling a special "Supershow" T-shirt last night featuring John Cena, Batista, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, The Undertaker.
There was a huge "ECW" chant after WWE played the commercial for the Rise and Fall of ECW DVD on the Titantron.
- WWE developmental talent Marty Wright was backstage at the taping last night but was not used.
- Roman from the Chris Masters segment last night is an indy worker from IWF.
- MTV's DJ Scribble was in attendance at the taping last night.
The RAW and SmackDown! crews leave New York City today and head to Europe. They'll be taping RAW liver there next week as well.
Jillian Hall has been called up and her gimmick is that she's going to have a prosthetic mole on her face. Matt Morgan has also been called up with a stuttering gimmick. Both of these idea's are from the creative team and are not the gimmick they were using in OVW.
Even though Batista is listed as being born January 19, 1969, he was actually born in 1966, making him 39 years old. He has admitted to friends he is on the verge of turning 40. Batista has three daughters, ages 20, 14, and 12.
Batista has also signed a new five-year contract with WWE.
The Heartbreakers changed their names to The Heart Throbs because WWE management felt it sounded to similar to Shawn Michaels' "Heartbreak Kid" gimmick.
Steve Austin will be on the next episode of Punk'd on MTV.
