Footage of Hulk Hogan's return to WWE in the last few months will be airing on his new VH1 reality show this summer. Cameras followed him everywhere he went, including backstage at WWE events this past month.
- Expect the arrival of many Hispanic wrestlers to the cruiserweight division on SmackDown very soon that will include Psicosis, Super Crazy and possibly Juventud Guerrera at this point. The paperwork is currently in WWE's legal department at this time.
- As reported, Bill Behrens will be shutting down his NWA Wildside territory in Georgia as he has been put in charge of the TV show for WWE's new Georgia-based developmental promotion. It is scheduled to open within the next month or so.
Backstage two weeks ago in Madison Square Garden during RAW, there was said to be many backstage anticipating the reaction Lita would receive when she came to the ring. When the pro-Matt Hardy chants insued, many workers were happy backstage since their was a widespread feeling of resentment towards WWE officials for releasing Hardy for what many believe was due to personal issues with Edge and not a case of creative not having anything for him. "Vince McMahon considers MSG his gauge for what's over in his company," said one WWE wrestler. "I wonder what he was thinking during that segment."
- The word making the rounds right now regarding Ted DiBiase's 90-day trial run as a creative consultant for WWE is that many don't seem impressed with him at this point. Many feel he has a lot of catching up to do in regards to what happend in the last 15+ years in the business. Given what was said about him from others, the opinion is that he thinks something that worked 20 years ago would work with today's audience. DiBiase hasn't reportedly watched wrestling on a regular basis for well over a decade.
- According to a statement on his official website, Aaron "Jesus" Aguilera was assued by John Laurinaitis that once he is medically cleared to wrestle that WWE would give him another look. Aguilera is hoping to work in Mexico and Japan once he is ready to wrestle again in a month or so.
John Cena was on "Good Day New York" on FOX 5 in New York today to promote his rap CD.
Matt Cappotelli is scheduled to work several RAW house shows in the next month or so against Tyson Tomko. Matt had been scheduled to come up last year on SmackDown! and win the cruiserweight title from Chavo but suffered a concussion while working a match against Bob Holly.
WWE will have another Supershow at the Arco Arena in Sacramento on July 4th.
Matt Hardy's official website (TheMattHardy.com) has a promo for the "Angelic Diablo" character, which he came up with for his return to WWE. Obviously, that won't happen at least in the near future. This is something to see.
Shelton Benjiman and John Cena will be the guests on WWE Byte This! tomorrow.
Sources are reporting that there have been several meetings between Women’s Extreme Wrestling, which is headed by former ECW management members Dan Kowal and Steve Karel and Spike TV. The promotion is based in the Pennsylvania and Delaware area and they also hold events at Florida.
Women’s Extreme Wrestling regularly run taped PPV events, which at times feature porn scenes into the show. A more under control version of the show which doesn’t include the porn segments, have nationally been released by retail markets.
Look for former diva search contestant Michelle McCool to wrestle more in the future. Another diva search contestant, Raw interviewer Maira Kannalis, may be involved in a future storyline.
- Expect OVW’s Jillian Hall to compete in the Raw women’s division. Marty Wright, the 41 year old from the recent Tough Enough competition is also expected to join the Raw roster.
- WWE is expected to have Raw at the Allstate Arena in Chicago the night after next year’s Wrestlemania, the same building that will host Wrestlemania 22.
