The World Wrestling Federation was a house hold name, especially in the late 90's; people bought "The Austin 3:16 t-shirts" and the Kane plastic masks. The attitude era was a great era in wrestling. 1997-20001 were years that wrestling fans will remember forever. But in late 2001-2002, the attitude was gone.
2002, in my opinion, was the worst year for WWE. The WWF name was no more and The WWE name was born. Triple H was World Champion, and the whole Katie Vick angle was developed. Story lines were horrible and WWE wrestling seemed to be gone forever.
And now WWE is better, but not that much. We currently have one of the worst workers in John Cena as our champion. John Cena is supposed to be the face champion; he is supposed to be loved by every single WWE fan. However, it seems he has more fans hating him than loving him.
Something is wrong when your face champion is being booed. What caused John Cena to be so hated by fans? His title reign. His title reign is one of the worst title reigns in WWE history.
WWE has superstars with great talent, such as Rob Van Dam, Edge, Shelton Benjamin, and even Carlito, who has improved greatly since starting in WWE. But instead of giving these wrestlers a chance, John Cena is boring millions of fans to the point that they would rather have Triple H as the 11 time champion. Who should be champion? One man. Rob Van Dam.
RVD is over with the crowd. He is a great wrestler and a good entertainer. He can bring a different look as WWE Champion and bring more exciting, main event matches. RVD is EXTREMELY better than John Cena.
But enough about RAW. How about Smackdown? I have not seen a fully Smackdown episode since last year. Smackdown is horrible in my opinion and here's why.
If you asked me to tell you all the current Smackdown story lines, I couldn't tell you. The latest angle I know is that Smackdown brought back The King of The Ring, and apparently there is a new Brock Lesnar name Bobby Lashely. Smackdown is so bad in my opinion that I can't watch it.
