FIRST TIME EVER!
Midnight Express (with Jim Cornette) vs. Tracey Smothers & Chris Hamrick
Of course, we have the match that was announced this past September, promoter Norm Connors' dream match to book, as the original Midnight Express tag team of "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton and "Loverboy" Dennis Condrey reunite alongside manager James E. Cornette and return to the ring to attempt to win one last tag team title, as they challenge reigning IWC Tag Team Champions Tracy Smothers & Chris Hamrick. One thing that's remained constant about professional wrestling in the southern United States is the emphasis on the very talented very deep tag team divisions. With 5 of the biggest names to come out of the south in recent memory participating in the same match, this could very well be the greatest tag team match to ever hit the northeast.
IWC Championship To Be Defended in Street Fight!
Balls Mahoney (champ) vs. Shirley Doe
December 11 will be a night of champions, as all three U.S-based IWC championships will be up for grabs. We all witnessed just days ago as Balls Mahoney threw away over two years of friendship and mutual respect all for greed. Mahoney formed an alliance with Commission representative Chris Wood, proving this was never about Wood's problem with violence, it was all about trying to run IWC into the ground and make promoter Norm Connors' life miserable any way he could. Now, with all thoughts of friendship out the window, Balls' first title defense is in a rematch against Shirley Doe, and it will be a streetfight! Prepare for one of the wildest matches in IWC history because not only is it about a mutual respect gone awry, it's also about the power and control that goes with possessing the IWC Heavyweight Title, a power that's very dangerous in the hands of Chris Wood.
IWC Super Indy Title Is Decided in 2/3 Falls!
Chris Sabin (champ) vs. "Fabulous" John McChesney
Also on December 11, the rematch between "The Future" Chris Sabin and "Fabulous" John McChesney for the IWC Super Indy Championship! Sabin came closer than ever before to losing his championship and his year-plus IWC winning streak in his first match with McChesney back at "Accept No Limitations", so much so that Sabin scored the pinfall using McChesney's tights for leverage, a very rare action from someone like Sabin. However, for this rematch, a special stipulation is in order. Due to how competitive the previous match between the two was, IWC officials speculate that it may take more than one pinfall to determine a clear-cut winner. As a result, the Super Indy Title rematch for December 11 will be a Two-Out-Of-Three-Falls Match! This is the first time the Super Indy Title has ever been defended like this, and this is definitely one of those matches that's just too close to call.
"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs. CM Punk
We'll also see two blockbuster returns featuring two men who haven't competed in the Pittsburgh area for over 2 months. On one side of the ring, none other than CM Punk! His opposition, a man who's star never ceases to rise, I'm talking about "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles! This is sure to be another in a long line of classic IWC matches, but keep in mind this is Punk's first IWC match since losing to Sterling James Keenan in Harrisburg last October. As a result of that loss, Punk was forced to return to becoming Sterling's tag team partner as a result of a prematch stipulation. How will that scenario impact this match?
Already a stacked card, as IWC is pulling out all-stops to finish out 2004 with a bang. Keep checking back in the coming days and weeks as even more is announced for this already-loaded event line-up.
