Johnny Stamboli, who was among the performers released by World Wrestling Entertainment a few weeks back in cost cutting measures, debuted today for All Japan Pro Wrestling as the new masked version of the Great Muta. Stamboli, wrestling as Muta, teamed with Love Machine Steele against Keiji Muto (the original Muta) and Osamu Nishimura as part of the promotion's Real World Tag League tournament www.pwinsider.com

Stamboli has the goods to make it anywhere. I am surprised that WWE fired him. He has so much to offer.

I think that's somewhat good, Stamboli deserves some credit. He isn't as bad as some people say.

I have always liked Stamboli. Shame the WWE couldnt use him right. Would love to see him come to TNA.

Woah, that is weird.
I would expect him to go to TNA, not a Japanese program.

You know they shouldn't call him the Great Muta, they should call him the Giagantic Muta, considering how 'big' the original Muta is.

Muta is 6'0" - 253lbs and Stamboli is 6’ - 245 lbs Dont know if the information is right but that difference isnt all that much.

What a waste...WWE shouldnt of released him. All it has done is put Nunzio out of place now and soon be out of WWE.

I hate that gimmick!! wasn't NJPW the organization that started the new muta gimmick after mutoh left for all japan?
did he sue for the rights? what happened?
I do want a masked muta figure though, as well as the kaz hayashi as mutoh & the american guy who copied the gimmick (mutoh, not muta) as well.
sorry if this got off topic, just strayed a bit. ;D
