There are said to be plans underway for an Extreme Championship Wrestling reunion show on Saturday, June 11th at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, PA. Former ECW World Champion and TNA's own Shane Douglas is said to be the main person behind the event and has reportedly already sent out feelers and contracts to former ECW talent such as Sabu, Raven, The Sandman and many others.
According to those close to the situation, Douglas' plan is to have many former ECW stars involved from what many considered the "golden era" of the promotion from 1994 to 1997. Former ECW referees and ring announcers are also expected to be invited to the show to give it a very "old school" feel to it. Of course, we can't forget the continuing rumors of the WWE running an ECW event of its own after the success of the "Rise & Fall of ECW" DVD on June 12th (a day after this scheduled event) in New York City that has been tentatively titled "ECW One Night Stand."
There remains no ticket information available regarding this event being run by Douglas as of yet. Also, it should be noted that the Combat Zone Wrestling has the ECW Arena booked for 6/11 and has assured many they will run an event on that date. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available regarding this breaking situation.
Speaking of Shane, hehas been promoted to a new role in the TNA talent relations department.

I think it's a good idea. Any WWE produced ECW show will likely be crappy, especially if Paul Heyman is not involved. Holding an ECW reunion anywhere other than the ECW Arena in Philadelphia wouldn't be quite fitting somehow.
