Ok, I'm a huge fanboy of the graphic novels and I relished at the chance to be one of the 1st groups in the country to see this movie.
My opinion: GREATEST COMIC BOOK MOVIE EVER
Why? Because Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller pretty much filmed the comic. It says "based on the graphic novels by Frank Miller" but it's not. It IS the graphic novels by Frank Miller.
The cast is perfect (other than Brittany Murphy), the settings and locations are perfect (anyone that's read the comics and knows about Kevin will FLIP), the filming itself is perfect. The way they took the look of the comics and put them on film will make a fanboy nut his pants. The contrasting black & white is just incredible.
For anyone interested in reading the material first, Do yourself a favor and DO IT. It's Sin City, The Big Fat Kill, and That Yellow Bastard. You will be glad you did before watching the movie.
